Students who wish to apply to the Pontificia Universidad Católica should fulfill the following requirements:
a) Go to the International Academic Relations Office of your University to obtain information about the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, deadlines and requirements.
b) Apply online, following the instructions stated in the form.
Students from institutions that don´t have agreements with UC can not apply online. c) Foreign students must possess a good command of the Spanish language. This is the responsibility of students themselves and their programs. The university uses the same standards of performance and evaluation for foreign and Chilean students.
UC will send a certificate of acceptance so students can apply for a visa. This certificate will be sent forty-five days prior to the beginning of the semester.
The following Academic Units specify certain restrictions:
The Institute of Political Science offers Master's level courses of 10 to 12 credits, Undergraduate level courses of 10 credits, and General Education courses of 5 credits. For the first two levels, previous training in the area is required. To this end students should present their academic transcript upon enrollment.
Students interested in courses in the Faculty of Economics and Administration and in the Institute of Political Science should present their academic record and course selection in the Internacional Academic Relations Office (RAI). These will be evaluated according to curriculum and level.
Due to the limited number of instruments available in the Institute of Music, only theoretical courses of the Institute are offered to foreign students. Courses of music practice are offered only to students majoring in music practice.
The Faculty of Medicine only allows access, in very special situations, to students from the same major and only to courses that do not form part of the minimum major program.
Sports Courses: Students should bring their own equipment in order to attend classes (racquet, hiking boots, sleeping bag). The University provides only general equipment for classes.
Courses in Economics and Administration: These courses have been restricted to a very select group of applicants who fulfill the prerequisites. Additionally, several courses from the Faculty of Economics and Administration and others selected from the School of Engineering (Department of Systems Engineering) are recommended in order to expand UC offerings. |
