Ricardo Krebs Wilkens (1918-2011)

 

The academic career of this PhD in Philosophy with a minor in History from the University of Leipzig spans more than 50 years at Universidad Católica, as well as, Universidad de Chile. His work as researcher in topics related to universal and Chilean history has been very important, since he taught complete generations of historians, professors and school children. His contributions are in the field of European history, especially in the evolution of Western thought, and 19th Century ecclesiastical history. In 1992, he received the Premio Nacional de Historia (National Award for History) . Ten years later, Universidad Católica awarded him with the Doctor Scientiae et Honoris Causa for his contribution to the university.
