Humberto Giannini Iñiguez (1927-2014)


He began his studies at the Pedagogical Institute in 1953 and became Professor Emeritus and Director of the Unesco Philosophy Chair. He traveled to Italy where he studied hermeneutics and philosophy of religion at the University of Rome. He was an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University. He is Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Paris. In 1998 he was elected a number member of the Chilean Academy of Language. The following year he received the National Award of Humanities and Social Sciences, occasion in which his contribution in the development of philosophy in the university field was highlighted.
