Bélgica Castro Sierra (1921-)


A theatre, film and television actress who has taken part in over a hundred productions. She was one of the founders of the Teatro Experimental of Universidad de Chile, in 1941. As an Acting Professor at the Escuela de Teatro (School of Drama) of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de San José, Costa Rica, she founded, together with Alejandro Sieveking, the theater company "Teatro del Ángel". In 1995, she was awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes de la Representación y Audiovisuales (National Award in Audiovisual and Performing Arts) for her professional achievements.  Six years later, she was awarded the APES (Asociación de Periodistas de Espectáculo,  Performing Arts Journalists Association) award.
