Emilio Filippi Muratto


In 1972, this university Professor was awarded the Premio Nacional de Periodismo (National Award for Journalism) with special mention for his editorial work.   He began his career as a journalist in 1942 while working for "La voz de la columna" a local newspaper from Villa Alemana, where he went on to become Director. He was the director of Ercilla magazine between 1968 and 1976.  He was also the founder and director of Hoy magazine and La Epoca newspaper (1987). He was the national president of the Colegio de Periodistas (Professional Association of Journalists), and the first president of the Tribunal Nacional de Ética y Disciplina (National Court of Ethics and Discipline) of that entity.
