Ricardo Ffrench-Davis Muñoz (1936)


A distinguished alumni of the Business School at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has a PhD in Economics and a Master´s Degree from the University of Chicago. He specializes in international commerce, macroeconomy and development, growth with equity, comparative economic history of Chile and Latin America, and international finances. In 2005, he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales (National Award for Humanities and Social Sciences) for the scientific strength and creativity that he has demonstrated in the field of Economics, which have earned him national and international recognition. He has also been recognized for his noteworthy ability to integrate structural factors as well as social and equity factors, the role of public institutions in designing economic policies.
