Nibaldo Inestrosa Cantín (1957)


He started his studies at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Chile, but not long after he decides to change and applies to Universidad Católica where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences.
He also obtained a posdoctorate in Molecular Neurobiology from the University of California. In 2008, he received the Premio Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (National Award for Natural Sciences). His aim is to understand and cure Alzheimer by analyzing the mechanisms that prevent the brain from degenerating. Nowadays, he is working with natural drugs to cure this disease and fibrosis.
He also works as an academic for the Faculty of Biological Sciences and manages the Centro de Envejecimiento y Regeneración (Center of Aging and Regeneration) (CARE Chile UC).
