Miguel Arteche Salinas (1926-)

 

This author was awarded the Premio Nacional de Literatura (National Award for Literature) in 1996. He studied law at Universidad de Chile for two years and later he studied literature at the Universidad de Madrid (1951-1953). He has directed poetry workshops at Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica and the Biblioteca Nacional (National Library). He was also a professor at the School of Journalism, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1983) and, at the same time, contributed regularly to different media. His literary output is vast, and consists of poetry, novels, short stories, essays, among others. His poetry has been translated into English, French, Italian German, Czech and Hebrew.
