Paula Aguirre Aparicio
Vice President for Digital Intelligence
It is the authority responsible for developing and implementing the University's policy to adapt, understand, and operate in digital environments. Heads the Office of the Vice President for Digital Intelligence.
Duties
- Propose policies for the development of digital skills and competencies, the development of digital ethical and social awareness, and the organization's capacity to adapt technologically to meet better the objectives and goals defined by the University.
- Propose the means and technological tools to enhance the academic processes of training, research, creation, and management.
- Develop, integrate, and operate the University's academic, research, creative, and administrative information systems.
- To provide integrated technological solutions that promote the effective use of data, continuous improvement, institutional efficiency, as well as an adequate data protection and cybersecurity system.

Career
Paula Aguirre Aparicio holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Astronomy from the UC Chile and a PhD in Astrophysics from the same university.
She is an assistant professor at the Institute of Mathematical and Computational Engineering and as an associate researcher at the Center for Research on Integrated Disaster Risk Management (CIGIDEN) in the area of Risk and Resilience in Complex Systems and Networks.
She is also a principal investigator at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA) and an associate expert at the Institute for Disaster Resilience (ITREND), supporting the development of the Data Platform for Resilience.
She has served as Vice President for Digital Intelligence since 2025.
