Office of the Vice President for Digital Intelligence
The Office of the Vice President for Digital Intelligence is the unit charged by the President with developing and implementing the University's policy to adapt, understand, and operate efficiently and effectively in digital environments, as well as implementing the resolutions of the Leadership Council related to these matters.
Paula Aguirre Aparicio
Paula Aguirre Aparicio holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Astronomy from the UC Chile and a PhD in Astrophysics from the same university. She is an assistant professor at the Institute of Mathematical and Computational Engineering and as an associate researcher at the Center for Research on Integrated Disaster Risk Management (CIGIDEN) in the area of Risk and Resilience in Complex Systems and Networks. She has served as Vice President for Digital Intelligence since 2025.
Core Functions
She is the authority responsible for developing and implementing the University's policy to adapt, understand, and operate in digital environments.
a) Propose policies for the development of digital skills and competencies, the development of digital ethical and social awareness, and the organization's capacity to adapt technologically to meet better the objectives and goals defined by the University.
b) Propose the means and technological tools to enhance the academic processes of training, research, creation, and management.
c) Develop, integrate, and operate the University's academic, research, creative, and administrative information systems.
d) To provide integrated technological solutions that promote the effective use of data, continuous improvement, institutional efficiency, as well as an adequate data protection and cybersecurity system.

Office of Information Technology
The unit whose function is to develop and operate the University’s academic and administrative IT systems. By managing central computer and communication systems, it supports the university’s colleges and units.

Office of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Articula la integración responsable de la IA en la vida universitaria. Desarrolla e implementa soluciones institucionales de IA aplicada y, a través del Nodo, entrega un espacio para orientar y discutir en conjunto con la comunidad un uso crítico, ético y creativo de la inteligencia artificial.
Office of Data and Computing
Lidera la evolución de la UC hacia un ecosistema federado de datos y cómputo avanzado. A través de un marco de gobernanza, se asegura de que cada unidad mantenga la soberanía sobre su información. Asimismo, proporciona las plataformas y la capacidad de procesamiento necesarias para cruzar estos datos de forma segura y transformarlos en productos y servicios analíticos que potencian la toma de decisiones en la docencia, el descubrimiento y la gestión.
Executive Direction
Articula la implementación de la estrategia y sostiene la operación de la VRID con una mirada transversal y sistémica. Lidera la gestión de la demanda con las diferentes unidades de la universidad, apoya la adopción de las nuevas tecnologías institucionales a través de gestión del cambio, y realiza la gestión administrativo financiera y el control de gestión de los diferentes proyectos, asegurando que cada iniciativa digital responda al Sueño UC y genere valor para la comunidad universitaria.
